We had a really interesting debate this morning in Year 5. After discussing hill forts, tribes and weapons, the children were given the following scenario – “Warriors from a neighbouring tribe are going from one settlement to another stealing cattle and setting buildings on fire. What shall we do?” There were some really interesting suggestions which included staying to defend the hill fort, sending warriors out to fight and we also discussed the possibility of it being a trap and a false message. The children then had a go at designing their own shields.
