Today the Year 2 children were set a challenge. They had to look at the still images from a short film and use their skills to see if they could work out what the film was about, and in which sequence the images appear. The children showed super prediction and analysis skills. They worked well together and came up with some lovely stories about what the film could be about. We then sat down and watched the film ‘Reindeer Ready’, and the children were amazed to discover that it was actually a McDonald’s Christmas advert from 2018. We chatted about the persuasive features in the film, and the children were able to draw on their knowledge of persuasive texts from their previous learning. Later this week we will be analysing how the film was made.
