Road Safety in Year 5 🚗💨

This week is Road Safety Week. This morning Year 5 took a trip into the village to look at the potential hazards that face them on the way to and from school. We learnt that it is not safe to cross the road near a bend, or across a t-junction. We also looked at the things in place to keep them safe. We saw that no car should stop on the yellow lines outside the school as this is a serious hazard. We also talked about cars parking on the pavements and how this should never happen around a school. Finally we had a quick recap on how to use the green light crossing area as well as looking at the speed limit on our road which is 20 mph! When we got back, we looked at the infographic produced by Aspire2Be to remind us of the safety rules.
