This week Year 1 have been learning all about police officers and what they do to help us everyday.

We started the week by discussing the role of the police officer and what attributes you need to be a good at the job. The children then really enjoyed writing a job advertisement for a police officer describing all of the things that they had learnt.

Year 1 were then extremely excited to discover a pretend crime scene in class. We went through all of the clues and discussed ways detectives would gather evidence e.g. dusting for fingerprints. The children then enjoyed writing fantastic incident reports discussing the crime scene using descriptive language.

We have now started designing comic strips featuring police officers.
