Our Aims:

  • Set up opportunities for other classes to link up, via Teams, to develop the Welsh language.
  • To support Welsh language development for the whole school
  • To build on our progress from the Silver award. 9Awarded Summer 2023)
  • To complete a few targets each year – aiming for our gold award.

We have been:

  • Making posters on power point to encourage people to speak more Welsh.
  • Walked around the village to say Shwmae to everyone.
  • Going outside to play cymraeg games with parachute to help use more Welsh.
  • We have watched a video and read a book about the history of quilts in Wales. We also talked about making our own paper quilts and started drawing our quilts.
  • We have made cards for Santes Dwynwen. We have also been splitting the classes in half for 20 minutes to play Welsh games then we will switch so everyone can get to do everything.
  •  We Recorded a message for the Wave, and it will be on the radio on Saint David’s day. We have also joined with the Welsh Healthy Heroes to play games in Welsh.
  • Year 6 for supported Mrs Evans (Welsh Coordinator) to organised welsh week and St David’s Day Eisteddfod.
