Year two are thoroughly enjoying watching chicks hatch this week! As part of our mini question ‘What came first – the chicken or the egg?’ we have had ten chicken eggs in class. We have been watching them hatch in the incubator and the children have been so excited, as we have recently been writing explanation texts about the life cycle of a chicken. The children have given them some interesting names: Tom, Mr. Hapus, Uktra Runner, Toby, Furball, Marshmallow, Violet Star, Stampy, Pluto and Unicorn! We are looking forward to taking care of the chicks and holding them next week.
