We have had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day today! Everyone looked absolutely fantastic in their costumes and pyjamas. Throughout the week we have been reading and discussing stories by local authors and illustrators Helen and Thomas Docherty, and we were very lucky that Thomas came in to work with us today! We learned all about the work that goes in to being a published author and illustrator, and Thomas taught us how to draw the Snaffle from the book ‘The Screen Thief’. We enjoyed asking him lots of questions, and it was so interesting finding out more about his work. After the session with Thomas, we collected data where we voted on our favourite Thomas and Helen Docherty books. We made some super pictograms on Jit, and then explained what our data showed. What a fun-filled day we have had, celebrating the wonderful world of reading!
