Dear Parents,

We know how much the children are missing school from various feedback we have received, so we thought outside the box… If the children cannot go to the school, we will bring the school to the children! We have created a replica of Pontlliw Primary School in Minecraft for the pupils to explore. They can visit all the classrooms, the pond area, the school yard and even the staff room!! Whilst we know this isn’t the same as actually being in school, we hope this brings some enjoyment to them. They can ‘host’ the world and share the code with their friends so can go to school together! If you need more information on how to do this, please email and we can pass on that information.

To access the world:

  1. Firstly open this blog on the computer that you have Minecraft for Education, please note, you will need the latest version to play – V.1.12.60 – available at https://education.minecraft.net/get-started/download/
  2. Go to Minecraft School  and download the file to your computer
  3. Open ‘Minecraft for Education’ and log in using Hwb credentials
  4. Click ‘Play’
  5. Click Import at the bottom right of the screen then select the Pontlliw Primary School you downloaded
  6. It will say Minecraft World Imported successfully
  7. Go to My Worlds and the word will be visible – click to play
  8. Enjoy!

Stay safe!

Mr Stonham
